Swedish version of Espresso Primary announced in partnership with Liber
5th November 2007
Espresso Education, the UK’s leading digital curriculum service, has announced its expansion into the Swedish primary education market. Espresso has signed an exclusive agreement with Liber, a division of Infinitas Learning and the premier provider of educational solutions in Sweden.
Espresso will license and develop a Swedish-translated version of Espresso Primary and provide weekly resource updates. Liber will have responsibility for sales and marketing, service delivery, and customer support. Espresso has taken responsibility for the language translation and curriculum alignment. Already successfully market tested with Swedish teachers in advance of the agreement, ‘Espresso by Liber’ will fill a large gap in the Swedish schools’ market for multi-media, online curriculum content.
Espresso’s video-rich service will be officially unveiled at Skolforum, Sweden’s largest educational fair taking place in Stockholm, October 29-31, 2007.
This agreement is the latest in a series of strategic business development moves that Espresso has made, starting with the merger with Netmedia in 2005 and most recently the acquisition of Channel 4 Learning in March 2007.
Lewis Bronze, co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Espresso Education commented: “This agreement is an incredible move forward for Espresso as it is our first entry into the European marketplace. We are pleased to be working with such a distinguished partner, Liber, and we are confident that Espresso will be as successful and popular in Sweden as it has been in the UK.”
Susanne Svensson, Publishing Director for ICT of Liber commented: “It is a very exciting time for ICT in Sweden and we are thrilled to be working with Espresso to offer Swedish schools the best digital product on the market today. ‘Espresso by Liber’ will satisfy a large need in Swedish schools today and will also influence the way that ICT is used in everyday teaching and learning.”
