Espresso Education is a pioneer in the field of educational multimedia, developing a ground-breaking facility which caters for everything from content creation and subject categorisation. Down-loading via satellite direct to classroom desktops, Espresso's resource materials are updated weekly and offer more than any video, CD-Rom, encyclopedia or TV programme.
Following a successful trial, funded by the European Space Agency, Espresso is charging forward to revolutionise primary school education. During this period, Espresso was partnered with several key content providers, principally BBC Worldwide Ltd, Channel Four Learning Ltd, and the Electronic Telegraph. With the trial period successfully completed, negotiations are underway to secure long term deals.
Espresso operates in partnership with the teacher, providing an invaluable planning resource in the classroom, while empowering the children. Espresso takes subject matter familiar to children and transforms it into a classroom tool. For example, during the trial, "Ready Steady Cook", the popular BBC TV programme, was used to demonstrate time, money and estimation. And all for a surprisingly affordable price. The annual subscription per child is £4.50, while the satellite equipment costs a school a one-off payment of about £2,000.
Lewis Bronze, Editorial Director of Espresso, said:
I am delighted that the trial has proved to be a success and this project has a very exciting future. It has already received glowing endorsements from the teaching profession and children alike.
